As a new student, you will be placed in courses at your proficiency level where you can learn in a safe and confidence-building environment. You will learn reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. Upon successful completion of each session, you will be awarded a certificate.
You will have 20 hours per week of intensive language instruction and organized language learning activities in the community. You will learn:

• English Language Skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking
• Communication in American Culture: language skill practice in cultural situations, including the cultural meanings of nonverbal communication
• Strategies for Academic Success: classroom skills, including literacy strategies, lecture listening skills, and note-taking techniques
• TOEFL Preparation: test-taking skills for the computer-based TOEFL exam
Individualized Tutoring services are also available to meet individual needs, interests, and time schedules.
The Intensive English Program is offered in two eight-week sessions during the fall term, two eight-week sessions during the spring term, and two four-week sessions during the summer. You can attend one or several sessions. Our classes are small, are adjusted to student needs and interests, and emphasize student participation and interaction.
Our faculty and staff will assist you with the entire registration process. Your program orientation will include: a campus tour, student dining services, sports programs, student health center, banking facilities and procedures, the Boise city bus system, and travel safety in America.
